Boots and Cats and Boots and Cats did a spectacular job. Their skill and passion was clear from the very beginning. Josie Kim ‘29 described the experience as, “At once excited, but kind of calm as well. The smoothness and ease… casual fun yet extremely polished.”
Everyone: sitting, standing, cheering, clapping… were in awe of the mesmerizing sounds and rhythms of the night.
The BlueJazz combo played a variety of music and in various languages like Portuguese and French.
The setlist included…
Red Baron by Billy Cobham
Autumn Leaves by Joseph Kosma, arranged by Mark Hamilton
Fee Fi Fo Fum by Wayne Shorter
Essa Moça Tá Diferente by Chico Buarque, adapted from a version by Roberta Sá
All About Ronnie by Joe Greene
The Chicken by Pee Wee Ellis
Violeta Salazar ‘28 shared, “I love live music, and I think it’s a very stressful time in the world and at school, and it’s good to have a community-wide event centered around the arts.” MD Hour’s live music event was a huge success. Stay tuned for more in the future!
